Kimp’s claim is they can design just about anything that can be designed in PS, AI, or INDD and nearly every type of video design you could need. If you can’t use any of the 100+ design types Kimp covers, reach out to them via live chat or your account manager and see if they can design it for you. From Logo Animation to NFTs, Kimp has you covered!
Kimp is the only unlimited graphic design service that offers a 7-day free trial where you can design 3 graphic requests and 1 video request for FREE. Of course, there are some contingencies, but you can read more about this in the pros section below.
For a simple flat monthly fee, you can request an unlimited amount of graphic and video requests that will be tackled 2 requests at a time. This is one of the main value drivers behind Kimp – get double the creative output at a more affordable price.
Kimp uses Trello as their project management software, unlike other unlimited graphic design services that use custom backends.
When your Trello board is created, you are assigned a dedicated design team and project manager who will tackle any design task you send over! We recommend you go through the Kimp 101 list in your Trello board to get a better idea of how you can maximize your Kimp experience.
Unlike the top unlimited graphic design services that use a custom backend, Kimp’s project management all take place in a Trello dashboard. Once you gain access to your Trello board, you are assigned an account manager and 5-6 designers. What’s nice about Kimp is they work on two requests simultaneously while other graphic design services will typically do one request at a time.
For those unfamiliar, Trello is a project management software that uses a board view where you create cards (requests) that are then organized in lists.
In your Kimp Trello board, there are 8 different lists.
The 1st list is ‘Kimp Trial 101’. Under this list, you have all the information you need to get started and get the most out of your Kimp subscription!
The next 5 lists are the tabs that organize where your request is in the design process. In order, they are Request, Graphics In Progress, Videos in Progress, In Review, and Completed.
The 7th list is ‘Graphics Guidelines’ where you can add brand guidelines for graphic requests, read general design guidelines, and where you can duplicate the card for your desired design type so that you can fill in your request details.
Kimp makes it super easy to make a design request. Under each design type, you can see all the necessary details your designers will need to get started!
Before making a request, make sure to fill in the brand guidelines for your request. To make the design process faster, and to cut down on the number of revisions required, share your brand guidelines with them.
Here’s what that includes:
-Logo
-Preferred colors/color palette
-Preferred fonts
-Mission/vision
-Target audience
If you have more than 1 brand, just duplicate the ‘Your Brand Guidelines’ card and make note of which brand it is in your request.
Scroll/search through the list of Kimp’s graphic and video design services they offer. If you don’t see what you need, reach out to your account manager or Kimp’s live chat to get directions on how to make your request!
Because Kimp has to create a custom Trello board for you, there is an onboarding process before you start your free trial. Once you sign up, you are sent to the following page that tells you it may take up to 6 hours to connect you with your dedicated design team. For us, it only took 2 hours for our Trello board to be ready.
Once your free trial is up and you’re ready to sign up with Kimp, you are asked to hop on a quick 15-minute call with an onboarding specialist before paying for your subscription. In this call, they briefly go over some best practices and specifics about Kimp’s service.
For our unlimited graphic design review series, a client of ours allowed us to use their brand to help us show you an apples-to-apples comparison from the top unlimited graphic design services.
For each unlimited graphic design service, we submit the exact same prompt.
Our client, the White Label World Expo, is a global convention that brings 15,000 attendees, 600 suppliers, and 400 speakers from around the globe under one roof.
Just like with every unlimited graphic design service, for each of these requests, we used past examples of creatives that worked for us and asked for some new iterations.
With our design requests, we wanted the designers to have a lot of creative freedom so we can get a better idea of how amazing each unlimited graphic design service is.
To get a solid comparison, we had each unlimited graphic design service make a video ad, an image ad, a logo design, a landing page design, and an email template.
We shared a few video ad examples and requested a new iteration between 15-30 seconds that includes all the best parts of the convention.

We shared examples of ads that work really well for us and requested some iterations that includes our main value propositions.

We received 3 variations of a new logo. We gave little to no direction on the logo.
Turnaround time: 10 Hours
The emails currently sent out are heavily text-based. We requested an email template that is more visual and highlights the main value propositions of the convention.
Turnaround time: 2 Days
We requested a new landing page design that is conversion-focused and based off of the current homepage.

For each of these prompts, we had the exact same requests sent to No Limit Creatives, Penji, and Konstant Kreative.

What’s a review without us sharing some of the pros and cons we experienced using Kimp’s unlimited graphic design service?
One thing that Kimp has the upper hand over other unlimited graphic design services is their 7-day free trial. What’s awesome is you can choose the package you want and get 3 graphic requests and 1 video request for FREE.
For your 3 graphic requests, 1 request = 1 design (i.e. a single print or digital creative, or up to 2-3 pages of a multi-page design, depending on the amount of content).
For your 1 video request, 1 request = 1 video, up to 15 seconds in length + unlimited revisions within the 7-day trial period.
Like everything in life that’s free, it comes with some contingencies: during your trial, you will only receive these designs with a watermark on them.
The only things you can’t design during your free trial are:
Regardless of these limitations, you can truly test the creative waters with Kimp before paying anything!
Some unlimited graphic design services only offer 1 active request at a time. For brands looking for more aggressive creative output, Kimp is a great option because they work on 2 active requests at a time. For the same price as another unlimited graphic design service, you can get double the output with Kimp.
A feature unique to Kimp, compared to other unlimited graphic design services, is the dedicated design team they build for you. With Kimp, the design consistency is more prevalent because you have the same designers working on your projects every time.
What’s a review without some cons?
Trello is an amazing project management platform that is extremely flexible to fit into anyone’s workflow. While Kimp does a great job of creating and managing the custom Trello board they make for you, we really love the custom backend software offered by No Limit Creatives, Penji, and Konstant Kreative.
We liked how other custom backends automatically assign members to you and give you a sense that everything is being taken care of with each step through the creative process. With Trello, Kimp is limited on the customization of the project flow with the project manager having to come in and move things throughout the design process.
We are always a fan of onboarding with unlimited graphic design services because you get a better idea of how you can maximize the service. With Kimp, the onboarding process felt a little long compared to our onboarding experiences with other unlimited graphic design services.
The whole onboarding flow starts with you purchasing a plan and redirected to a message telling you that you will receive an email within 6 hours with directions on how to access your Trello board.
Once you complete your free trial, you have to hop on a quick 10-15 minute onboarding call. During this call, your onboarding specialist goes through how to launch a project, how many projects at a time, what types of designs, and all sorts of other things before you can upgrade to a paid subscription.
Kimp’s project requests ask specific questions related to the design type you need so they can design the best possible creatives for you. While we think it’s super important to be clear about what your design needs are, there are times when you want to hand over those creative reigns.
Kimp’s working hours are 5:30 am to 1:30 pm EST, so make sure you fill out all of your project details in this time frame so your project manager can get back to you the same day with any additional follow-up questions!
These are some best practices to get the most out of your unlimited graphic design experience
Your project will come out exactly the way you imagined it if your team can communicate your design needs effectively.
Systems are key to success with using an unlimited graphic design service. These systems teach your team how to write design requests, how to clearly communicate what they want, and how to communicate the revisions they need for drafts.
Save hundreds of hours every month by building a system your team can use to reduce back and forth communication and increase the chances your design comes out right the first time!
Kimp is an “unlimited” graphic design service meaning you get as many designs and revisions as humanly possible within a month. What unlimited means is that you can create an unlimited number of design requests, but you are limited on the number of active requests (1-2 a day).
Any requests with deadlines must be communicated to your project manager so you can get your requests flagged with a higher priority.
We see unlimited graphic design services as a way to support your in-house design team. Using these types of services enables your in-house design team to focus their attention on more important design projects.
Our in-house design team loves to work with unlimited graphic design services like Kimp for projects that are more repetitive, tedious, or manually time-consuming design tasks.
For companies that don’t have in-house designers, unlimited graphic design services are a great way to outsource your creative needs to talented designers without any of the hassles of hiring, vetting, and managing.
We sent the same project request to the top unlimited graphic design services so you can see an apple-to-apples comparison of the type of designs you’ll receive. Like what you see? Dive into our in-depth review for each of them!
